If your train horn plans include a high pressure 200psi system, consider making the HornAir 248 your foundation. Sometimes train horn hobbyists build their systems one part at a time and end up with mismatched specs that limit performance. The 480C compressor and H.P. tank in this kit are good to 200 psi for extremely loud performance. Make sure your horn can withstand these high air pressures. Our Shockers can and make an ideal pairing.
The 2 gallon tank gives ample blasts for moderate real world use. The Viair 480C will re-fill in a hurry (about 1 minute 10 seconds). Nathan Air Chime and Leslie horns need at least a 5 gallon tank. If that's you, order the model 548 upgrade above.)
